Access is on the Baxter County (east) side right below the dam. Take the State Park and Gaston's turn off of Hwy 178 just east of the dam and then the right fork to the access area. Launching or recovering a boat can be a little tricky at dead low or high flows. Good wade access at low water. Boating access in the area is limited at low flows.
An oddity in regulations (long story) allows for one lure with one barbless treble hook in this .8 mile catch and release area. Artificials and a single barbless hook per rod otherwise. Area closed to fishing November 1 - January 31.
Regulations are as in the other catch and release areas but allow for the exception of a single lure with barbless treble hook.
The access has a good riffle just off the boat launch.
