Norfork Tailwater - (Bill Ackerman) River Ridge Access

There is good wade fishing access here at low water directly out from the walk down area. Being the only public access in the middle to lower stretch of the tailwater, it received fair pressure at times. Many anglers venture farther upstream or downstream, but extreme care should be taken as water can come up exceedingly fast here and trap anglers.
The fishery receives a lot of pressure and tactics have to be learned to fool the fish which can be aware under low, calm conditions.
As is the case at the dam, don't overlook some of the obvious places to fish. There are some large trout that hold in the obvious areas. Careful presentations and patience is the key to finding nice fish here.
